Product Description

The Atomic Backland Summit 12 Ski Bindings with Brakes are a new design based on the tried-and-true Backland toepiece and a new heel with fully adjustable release values and a 4mm fore aft elastic travel built in. This allows the user to fine tune the release, and allows for a more consistent interface between boot and binding as the ski flexes, all with a weight penalty of less than 10 grams.

Features

  • Toe Piece: Backland Tech Toe – Aluminum and fiberglass-reinforced polyamide construction with patented Step In aid, compatible with Backland Crampons in 80, 90, 100 and 110mm widths (available separately).
  • Heel Piece: Backland Summit Heel – Autoflex System, release value adjustment, locking touring brakes
  • AutoFlex System – Elasticity within the binding to support the natural ski flex and further enhance safety. The system features a spring beneath the heel mechanism that automatically provides 4mm of travel between the toe and heel when trying to step in on a concave slope and during the arc of a turn. The spring adds 4mm of additional travel to the recommended 4mm adjustment gap, resulting in a total of 8mm of binding travel.
  • Three climbing levels - flat, medium and high
  • Additional Features: 50mm of Fore/Aft Heel Adjustment
  • Mount Pattern Identical to Backland Tour/Pure
  • Ski Compatibility: We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
