PUBLIC Research Snowboard 2025/2026
The PUBLIC Research is PUBLIC’s most freeride-focused board to date—a directional, tapered freeride deck that still carries the freestyle DNA the brand is known for. It’s built for riders who want real float and stability in steep terrain and deep snow, without giving up the ability to slash, spin and get creative all over the mountain.
Directional Freeride Shape with Freestyle Roots
The Research uses an overall directional shape with 8 mm of taper to help the tail sink and the nose rise, giving you effortless float in powder and confident edge hold on hardpack. That shape makes it easy to rail powerful carves, thread tight tree lines and stay on top when the snow stacks up, but it still feels lively and playful thanks to PUBLIC’s freestyle-driven design approach.
Mountain Alert Camber & Tech-Loaded Construction
Under the hood, the Research features Mountain Alert Camber—a directional version of PUBLIC’s Alert Camber. Majority camber between the feet brings edge hold, control and pop, while early rise in the tip and tail (with a more exaggerated rise in the nose) adds forgiveness and extra float in deeper snow. A Poplar Light Core blends poplar with super-light paulownia and hardwood under the inserts for strength, reduced weight and a snappy feel. Carbon V stringers in the tip and tail plus a full tip-to-tail carbon stringer add powerful pop and stability, while biax fiberglass and urethane sidewalls keep the flex smooth, damp and predictable. A fast sintered base completes the package for top-tier speed and durability.
Why You’ll Love It
- Most freeride-focused PUBLIC: Directional shape with 8 mm taper built for powder, steeps and big-mountain style terrain.
- Mountain Alert Camber: Directional hybrid camber with early-rise nose and tail for edge hold, pop and easy float.
- Medium–stiff flex: Stable and confident at speed and in variable snow, while still retaining some freestyle playfulness. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}
- Poplar Light Core: Lightweight, lively core with paulownia to shed weight and hardwood under the bindings for durability.
- Carbon V & tip-to-tail carbon: Extra pop, snap and stability without adding unnecessary weight.
- Biax fiberglass: Smooth, consistent flex that keeps the board nimble and predictable from tip to tail.
- Urethane sidewalls: Enhanced impact absorption and vibration dampening compared to traditional ABS.
- Sintered base: Fast, durable base that holds wax well for long, fast freeride days.
Ideal Rider
If you’re an intermediate to advanced rider who wants a freeride board that floats in powder, feels locked-in on steeps, and still lets you tap into PUBLIC’s freestyle feel for sidehits and natural features, the PUBLIC Research is your tool. It’s built for exploring the whole mountain on storm days and high-pressure groomer laps alike, with the confidence of a directional freeride shape and the liveliness of a park-bred construction.
