Life Jacket & Wake Vest Buyer's Guide

Always check the size guide of the wake vest to ensure a proper fit. Think about the type of vest (e.g., pullover, zip-up) that suits your preference and comfort, and look for vests made from comfortable materials for extended wear. New designs and materials are making wake vests more comfortable and lower profile. Even if it's not required, a wakeboarding vest can help keep your head above water and protect your core from impacts.

CGA Vests

US Coast Guard requires all boat passengers to have a CGA (Coast Guard Approved) life jacket. Life jackets must be in good condition and they must be the appropriate size for the user.

Competition Vests

Comp vests are not US Coast Guard approved. Competition vests, or comp vests for short, are lighter weight and super flexible. They may float you but may not keep you completely out of the water. They are used for staying warm and/or providing some impact protection in the cable park.
