How To Choose A Snowboard
Snowboards can be specific to powder, all-mountain, or park. If you are a first time buyer of a snowboard, you will most likely be shopping for an all-mountain snowboard. If you are looking to learn new tricks, shop freestyle snowboards.

There are a few main factors around a snowboard.
- Stiff snowboards are harder to control at slower speeds and tend to be harder to learn on.
- A more flexible board will be more forgiving and playful.
- Wide snowboards are harder to turn, but offer a solution to larger feet that can experience toe drag. Wide snowboards are usually marked with a "W" in their sizing, ex. 158W.
- After you have an idea of what type of board you want, the next factor to consider is the length. Longer boards tend to be faster and stable, but, harder to turn. A shorter snowboard will be lighter and easier to control, but at a cost of less edge grip.
